DOJ officers meet up with with civil legal rights leaders ahead of March on Washington

Garland also highlighted the department’s endeavours against discriminatory redlining procedures in the housing market place by means of its Combatting Redlining Initiative, in which the department secured the major redlining settlement in its history before this calendar year.

“I have also made crystal clear that protecting civil rights is not only the responsibility of just one storied division in our department — it is the duty of every Justice Section worker, every one working day,” Garland stated. “It is central to the mission of each element, each staff, each and every agent, and each prosecutor in this section.”
